Our work

The exterior tells us where to begin

Peeling edges, faded color, open joints, and worn trim point to different preparation needs. A useful estimate begins with those conditions.

We also consider access, nearby surfaces, landscaping, and the weather window. Those details shape the sequence of the work.

Exterior surfaces and details to review

A house may combine brick, siding, trim, doors, soffits, gutters, porches, and other painted elements. Each can age differently.

Before the scope is set, we look for:

  • loose or failing paint;
  • gaps and joints that need attention;
  • damaged or weathered surfaces;
  • difficult access around rooflines and landscaping;
  • major color changes that may affect coverage.

The existing surface decides the preparation. It should not be treated as an afterthought.

Michigan weather changes the schedule

Temperature, rain, sun, and surface moisture affect exterior work. Planning should leave room for suitable application conditions instead of forcing the calendar.

Starting the conversation early gives us time to review color, access, and surface condition before the target season.

Color decisions beyond the paint chip

Exterior color sits beside roofing, masonry, windows, doors, and landscaping. Large outdoor surfaces also change in full sun and shade.

We look at the palette as a complete exterior, especially when the project creates strong contrast between the field color and the trim.

Exterior painting questions

When should I begin planning an exterior project?

Begin before the target season if possible. That leaves time to review the surfaces, color, scope, and weather.

Can you paint over peeling areas?

Failing paint points to a preparation need. Loose material and the surface underneath should be reviewed first.

Can painted brick be part of the project?

We can consider it after reviewing the brick, existing coating, moisture conditions, and desired finish.

Do you serve my part of Metro Detroit?

Send your project address or call us. We will confirm whether we serve your location.

Whole-home exterior

A new exterior palette with strong contrast

We moved the brick and siding to a lighter field, then used black trim and gutters to define the roofline and openings.

Entry doors need their own finish plan

We planned the finish around the door profiles, glass, hardware, and weather exposure. Careful masking kept the edges clean.
